The New Moon on April 27th sees Selene at 7° Taurus, the first decan of her exaltation. This decan is ruled by Mercury, and is associated with science, building, plowing, and geometry. It suggests a period of planning, and laying the groundwork for new constructions, whether physical or astral.
On May 2nd, Venus will meet with Neptune at 1° Aries. She is not at all comfortable here in the sign of her detriment. While this phase of her synodic cycle with the Sun sees her emerging with some ferocity, this may be a time where she feels the need to take a bit of a break and indulge in some unfocused pleasure seeking. A little drink, or maybe two, after a hard journey.
Pluto stations retrograde on May 4th, at 3° Aquarius. This prolongs his opposition with Mars in Leo. Tensions escalate, then begin to simmer until Mars is well past the point of their meeting. This is a potentially violent aspect, and Aquarius lends arrogance and idealism to the mix. Everyone who is absolutely convinced they are right sharpens their swords.
May 10th marks the ingress of Mercury into Taurus. Peregrine for all but the first ten degrees, Mercury can find his time here a bit slow for his liking. His best bet is to begin something that takes a lot of planning, and keep himself busy.
With the Full Moon at 22° Scorpio, we find the moon in her fall, the exact opposite of where she started this cycle. This decan has connotations of drunkenness, bloodshed, and a general abandonment of social niceties. It is as if Selene’s plans fall apart, or appear to, and she gives in to despair. If she can keep it to one day of nihilistic release, she should be fine.
The weekend of the 17th and the 18th sees a conflagration of sorts, with the Sun meeting Uranus in Taurus, and Mercury in the same sign squaring Mars in Leo. There is a lot of disruptive energy to this set of aspects. With Mercury in the mix, the thing to remember is “use your words.” Sober communication will be paramount at this time.
On the 20th, the Sun enters Gemini. While not particularly strong here, is he also not unduly weakened. A trine with Pluto could see an agreement between authorities on the use (and abuse) of power.
Saturn enters Aries on the 24th, though he will retrograde back into Pisces later on. This is the preview for what he has planned for the Aries part of individual charts, so take notes.
Mercury enters his home sign of Gemini, ready to talk too much and probably get involved with too many things. At the end of the month, he will meet with the Sun, get singed a bit, then wind up his period of productivity before turning retrograde in July.
