November begins on a somewhat foreboding note, with a New Moon in Scorpio on the 1st. She’s at the tail end of a grim decan, the lore of which is filled with death and sadness. In fall, the Moon is reliant on an emotionally reactive Mars in her own Sign of Cancer. The two are trading Signs, each being in the other’s domicile, but no aspect perfects between them. Mars is also opposing Pluto, suggesting that power struggles both large and small might be at play. The Moon’s trine with Saturn might provide some much needed stability, even if Saturn is rather weak in Pisces.

Mercury, nearing his retrograde, will trine Mars on the 2nd, suggesting “fighting words” will come a bit easier to the tongue.

On November 3rd, Mars enters Leo, the home of his Exaltation Lord, the Sun. He will spend the next few months here, as he is set to turn retrograde in December. For a short time, he will enjoy a mutual reception with the Sun in Scorpio. All this may lend a tinge of duty to his normal impetuousness, and he will tend to look for the best outcome, rather that the most immediately satisfying.

On Election Day, the Moon will make a square with Neptune early in the morning. This could be an indication of confusion and uncertainty. Additionally, She will be Void of Course for much of the day following, not making an aspect with another planet until the evening. A delayed election result is suggested.

On November 11, Venus enters Capricorn. This is one of her least favorite Signs, ruled as it is by Saturn, as well as being the Exaltation of Mars. She’s on the Malefics’ home turf, but also has some ability to transform difficult circumstances, owing to her Earthy, Nocturnal nature, matching that of Capricorn. Venus will not be precisely happy here, but she may get a lot of work done.

The Full Moon in Taurus on November 15th sees the Moon in a markedly better position than where she started. She is now in her Exaltation, and in a loose but effective trine with her ruler, Venus. A sense of celebration at having overcome a number of difficulties permeates this Lunation.

On the 19th, Pluto moves into Aquarius, where he will now stay for the next 20 years. We will continue to see power shift from more material sectors to technological and intellectual. Indeed, the two may begin to overlap in surprising ways.

On the 25th, Mercury will station Retrograde in Sagittarius. Plan on the usual delays, this time with some increased impatience. Jupiter in Gemini is ill equipped to manage all the variations at play. Keeping lists and updating planners is a good idea.
